Oklahoma Koch Nitrogen, a subsidiary of Koch Industries, is planning to expand its fertilizer plant in Enid. The project entails building a 900,000-ton-per-year urea plant, truck- and rail-loading facilities, and 90,000 tons of additional urea storage capacity. Black & Veatch is the designer, and KBR is the construction manager. Construction is expected to start in October 2014 and be completed by October 2016. The project has been valued at $1 billion. West Virginia, virginia, North Carolina Dominion Resources, Duke Energy, AGL Resources and the Piedmont Natural Gas Co. are planning to build the Atlantic Coast Pipeline. The 550-mile-long pipeline will bring up to 1.5 billion cu ft per day of natural gas from the Marcellus and Utica shale formations from Harrison County, W.Va., through Virginia to Robeson County, N.C. The pipeline will be 42 in. in dia in West Virginia and Virginia, 36 in. in dia in Hampton Roads and 20 in. in dia in North Carolina. The project also includes three compressor stations. New York The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded an $18.9-million firm-fixed-price contract to Kokosing Construction Co. Inc. to repair damage, caused by Superstorm Sandy, to the Oswego Harbor breakwater. Repair work to the 800-ft-long detached wall will entail grading the existing lake bottom and placing bedding, under-layer and armor stone. The work encompasses the construction of an entrance channel and 3,100 ft of rubble-mound breakwater that, together, occupy 14 acres. The project also involves dredging and disposal of about 339,000 cu yd of material, which will be disposed of in deepwater. The project is valued at between $10 million and $25 million. Oregon 10/21 Umpqua Community College is seeking bidders to construct a health, nursing and science building on its Winchester campus in Roseburg.
