France The International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) is engaged in building the world's largest experimental tokamak nuclear-fusion reactor at the Cadarache research facility in southern France. Fusion for Energy (F4E), the organization managing Europe's role in the project, in March 2014 awarded two contracts, totaling $56 million, to Ferrovial Agroman for the construction of two buildings at the facility. One contract covers the construction of two 4,900-sq-meter buildings to house magnetic power conversion, converting alternating current into direct current to supply the tokamak's magnets.
