After two years without a bridge, the beautiful new Lake Champlain bridge is scheduled to open tomorrow afternoon.  The tied arch main span was floated across the lake and lifted into place last month, and remaining paving and road work is now complete.

A webcam recorded the picture below.  It seems to have captured an image of Champ, the shadowy Lake Champlain Monster that has been seen every few years floating in the mist.  The Monster was not invited to tomorrow’s official opening ceremony
