Collins Electric, based in Stockton, Calif., has been named ENR California's 2022 Top Specialty Contractor of the Year.

The Tampa-based specialty contractor endured significant market turbulence aas a result of the pandemic, but is seeing the potential for plenty of work ahead into 2023 and beyond.

Even as specialty contractors in the Southeast weather supply chain issues and price spikes, they see continued growth in the years ahead.

Overall, specialty contractors in California and the Northwest reported mixed revenue totals last year, in large part due to project delays stemming from the pandemic.

While work continues to be plentiful for specialty contractors across the five-state region of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas, concerns remain for how the project landscape will continue to evolve as the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to weigh on the world.

Specialty contractors in the New York and New England regions, like those elsewhere, have been affected by the negative impacts of COVID-19.

Many of the Midwest’s top specialty contractors performed better than expected despite the ongoing pandemic. The group as a whole reported regional revenue of  $5.48 billion in 2020.
