Indiana Great Lakes Capital is planning to build a high-tech campus on a 13-acre portion of Ignition Park, an 80-acre technology park south of downtown South Bend. Minnesota Interstate Parking, a developer, is planning to convert the Minneapolis Armory into a concert hall and event venue. The 110,000-sq-ft armory building was built in 1935 and for more than a decade hosted the Minneapolis Lakers basketball team, as well as political conventions and boxing matches. The renovation will include a total roof replacement, new doors and windows, refurbishment of the bleachers and elevators, portable seating, a stage, and new sound and lighting systems. North Carolina Shea Homes is planning to build a subdivision named Carolina Ridge in eastern Lincoln County. The 1,650-lot subdivision, on a 589-acre site, will consist of 1,350 active-senior adult detached homes and 300 detached units designed for buyers of any age. The homes will include balconies, decks and fireplaces. The developer expects to complete the subdivision by 2021. The project is valued at $200 million. Pennsylvania E. Kahn Development Corp., in partnership with J. Loew & Associates, is planning to convert the vacant former National Liberty Life Insurance Co. complex on 65 acres north of Malvern into the U.S. headquarters and showroom of Saint-Gobain, a French building-materials manufacturer. The 320,000-sq-ft building will house 800 employees, with space for 100 more. Saint-Gobain plans to cover the campus' walks with Sheerfill, a fabric that forms the canopy at Denver's main airport. Massachusetts Skanska USA Building Inc. has started building the Block K Watermark Seaport residential towers in Boston. The project involves building both a six-story and a 17-story building, totaling 301,389 sq ft, containing 346 rental units and 25,000 sq ft of retail space, at the intersection of Seaport Blvd. and Boston Wharf Rd. It was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, and construction is expected to be completed by March 2016. The project is valued at $126 million. Texas Cadence McShane Construction Co., LLC, has started constructing First Northwest Commerce Center, a 350,820-sq-ft spec warehouse in the North Hardy Toll Road section of northwest Houston.
