International Food Group, a subsidiary of Sysco Corp., is planning to construct a $90-million food distribution facility on a 171- acre site at the Westlake Industrial Park in Jacksonville. Scope includes construction of a 270,000-sq-ft building, as well as purchase and installation of refrigeration and freezer systems, automated conveyors, and bar coding, stretch wrapping and loading dock equipment and systems. Indiana
United States Steel Corp. is planning to upgrade the hot strip mill at its Gary Works steel mill in Gary. The project’s scope includes purchase and installation of equipment and systems to increase hot strip mill capacity for heavy gauge line pipe and automotive steel. U.S. Steel is also planning to upgrade the No. 14 blast furnace at Gary Works and construct a slag recycling facility at its Mon Valley Works in Pennsylvania. Procter & Gamble Co. is planning to expand its oral care products plant in Iowa City. Project scope includes construction of a 150,000-sq-ft building; purchase and installation of automated conveyors, as well as parts storage, molding, assembly, testing and packaging equipment and related systems. Construction of the estimated $150-million project is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026. The company will use the plant to produce manual, battery-assisted and power toothbrushes. Aumovio is planning to expand its 215,000-sq-ft automotive components manufacturing and distribution facility in New Braunfels.
