| Planning Florida The City of Miami Beach is seeking proposals for the development of a hotel on a site adjacent to the city's convention center. The planned hotel will have 800 rooms and multiple conference spaces, including a ballroom and breakout spaces. Further, proposals should contain specifications for the demolition of the existing buildings on the site, including the Fillmore Theater annex. Nevada The University of Las Vegas has announced plans to build a medical school building on its main campus. The project's estimated cost is $80 million. Located on a 140-acre site, the Bader Field Family Entertainment and Casino Redevelopment, a 6.2- million-sq-ft complex, will include a 3,000-room hotel, an indoor water park and multiple restaurants. Work also would include construction of a monorail to link the complex to the Atlantic City Rail Terminal within the city's convention center. Future phases of the project will include construction of a performance arena, parking facilities and an 11- building condominium complex. Texas Freeport LNG has awarded a $2-billion contract for engineering, procurement and construction services on a liquified-natural-gas train at its Freeport facility to a joint venture of CB&I, Chiyoda International and Zachry Industrial. The project will cover construction of a third LNG train at the facility, with work expected to begin this year. This train will add 13.2 million tonnes per annum of LNG export capacity. The new facility will receive feed gas from Freeport's existing Stratton Ridge meter station. The project also includes the construction of a 165,000-cu-meter, double-walled, full-containment LNG storage tank. Construction of the first two LNG trains began in late 2014 and is ongoing. Vermont An $18-million contract was awarded to Platinum-LeChase Construction Group to provide CM-at-risk services for construction of an assisted-living facility in South Burlington. | Bid, Proposal Dates New York 4/16 The New York District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking general-contractor bids for construction of an unmanned-aerial-vehicle hangar at Fort Drum. Work will include construction of an operations-and-maintenance hanger, a supply shop, storage areas as well as runways, taxiways and approach aprons. California 4/21 The Judicial Council of California has issued an RFQ for CM-at-risk services for a new courthouse in Santa Barbara. The new Santa Barbara County Courthouse will consist of a two-story, 93,000-sq-ft building, with a precast-concrete frame and spaces for eight courtrooms. A 240-car parking facility with 11 secure parking spaces is also included in the project's scope. The architect on the project is Moore Ruble Yudell Architects.
