Built to facilitate the smooth arrival and departure of thousands of passengers for two of the world’s largest cruise ships, the three-story 195,500-sq-ft terminal provides expansive views of the vessels from throughout the building.

Few doubted the need to replace the 70-year-old, low-level steel truss swing bridge spanning the Intracoastal Waterway. 

This 20,000-sq-ft collaborative learning facility, designed by Arquitectonica and built by Coastal Construction, features a large open floor plan that enables up to 130 students to use the building’s fabrications lab, workstations, presentation areas, review spaces and offices.

Just as construction was underway, the state instituted regulatory changes that forced a redesign of the original 183,000-sq-ft plan.
