Product Snapshot: Safety Guardrail and Compact Excavator
The newest entry in Bosch's 18V Lithium-Ion tool line, the RHH181 SDS-Plus Rotary Hammer is able to drill more than 150 1/4-in. by 11/2-in. holes in concrete on a single-charge 4.0-amp-hour battery. The rotary hammer uses Bosch's new CoolPack batteries, which feature a heat-conductive housing to reduce heat buildup and extend the battery's overall life. A brushless EC motor reduces the need for maintenance. The tool's Vario-Lock rotates the chisel into different positions for work at odd angles.

SpiderRail is a temporary, non-penetrating guardrail system that can achieve stability without returns or outriggers at the path ends, reducing the amount of needed space. Its 30-lb base plates allow for easy transport and built-in toeboards reduce setup time. The SpiderRail system also uses pre-engineered fabricated panels, eliminating the need for wood 2x4s.

The ZX35U-5 is the latest addition to the Hitachi Zaxis Dash 5 compact excavator lineup. It is powered by a Yanmar engine that meets Tier 4 Final emissions standards and runs on ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel that contains no special additives. The excavator's cab has several new features over the Dash 3 series, including a redesigned, larger door on the machine's left side that provides better visibility. The Zaxis Dash 5 compact excavators retain the front-end design of the Dash 3 and are compatible with all existing Dash-3 front-end attachments.

The Topcon RL-200 Rotating Laser offers horizontal accuracy with a repeatability of plus or minus seven arc seconds. Intended for general construction and engineering land-leveling applications, the laser is available in single- or dual-slope models. The single-slope model has a -5% to 25% grade range, while the dual-slope model adds plus or minus 10% grade to the second axis. Both models of the RL-200 come with an LS-80L laser sensor designed to work with the high-powered laser diode, allowing for a maximum working range of 1,100 meters.
