The city of Norwalk is planning to construct a new Norwalk High School building on the site of the existing school’s football field. Hard Rock International is planning to build a Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. The 36-story, guitar-shaped hotel at 3600 S. Construction manager Flintco Inc. is currently evaluating submitted subcontractor bids to carry out the construction of two five-story dorm buildings for the University of Oklahoma in Norman. In addition to dorm rooms, each building will have a lounge area and a large storm shelter. The buildings are being designed by the Architectural Design Group. The project will replace the existing Portage Bay Bridge 520/3 with two new parallel variable depth segmental box girder bridges across Portage Bay, the existing State Route 520 eastbound off-ramp structure to Montlake Boulevard East and the existing 10th Ave E. and Delmar E. under-crossings with a new Roanoke Lid Bridge. This project will also extend the SR 520’s transit/HOV system from Montlake to I-5 and the cross-lake bicycle and pedestrian trail over Portage Bay.
