Georgia AMLI Residential is planning to redevelop the former Cox Communications office complex, occupying a 21.14-acre site in Brookhaven, into a mixed-use development. The AMLI Lake Hearn mixed-use project will involve demolishing the existing 292,000-sq-ft office building and erecting a five-story, 600,0000-sq-ft wood-frame building containing 615 apartments and 25,000 sq ft of commercial space; 5.14 acres will be devoted to park space. Indiana Indianapolis Public Transportation Corp. is planning to construct the Purple Line Bus Rapid Transit line. The 14.8-mile-long route connects the City of Indianapolis and the City of Lawrence, and features 23 new stations, along with eight existing stations. It will also include a mile-long greenway along the north side of 38th Street, from Tacoma to Sheridan. It is being designed by WSP USA Inc., and the project is valued at $140 million. Mississippi The University of Mississippi Medical Center is planning to build the Mississippi Center for Medically Fragile Children in Jackson. The 30-bed, single-story, 35,329-sq-ft facility will provide highly specialized skilled nursing, rehabilitation and palliative care to medically dependent pediatric patients. It is being designed by Eley/Barkley/Dale Architects. A bid date has not been announced yet, but construction is expected to begin in 2021. The project is valued at $14.5 million. New Mexico Photosol US Renewable Energy is planning to construct the Shiprock Solar project in Waterflow. The project entails building a 372-MW solar farm comprising 1.3 million solar panels on a 2,535-acre site. It would connect to the existing Western Area Power Administration substation via an approximately 1,400-ft 345-kV transmission line (using a constructed main collector substation location near the WAPA substation) or approximately 2,600 ft to PNM’s 345-kV San Juan station as the second option (using an alternative location for the Main Collector Substation). Oregon Oregon Metro is planning to carry out the Highway 212 complete street and right-of-way reconstruction in Portland. The project involves reconstructing the roadway including sidewalks, bicycle facilities and crossings, to improve access and safety, as well as grade-separating the intersection with 142nd Avenue and realigning 135th Avenue. California The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a $29.5-million firm-fixed-price contract to Nordic Industries to construct 1.8 miles of varying types of seepage cutoff walls for the Sacramento River East Levee. The work entails constructing open trench soil-bentonite and slag cement-cement-bentonite cutoff walls, deep mix method cutoff walls and jet grout cutoff walls. Minnesota Pulte Home Corp. has started construction of Row Homes at Highland Bridge in Saint Paul. The development will include 15 blocks of row homes totaling 300 units and covering 638,500 sq ft. The development is valued at between $25 million and $50 million. This is the first development on the former site of Ford Motor Co.’s Twin Cities Assembly Plant. The 122-acre site will eventually contain 3,800 housing units, 150,000 sq ft of retail space, 265,000 sq ft of office space, 50,000 sq ft of civic or institutional space and 55 acres of public and open space. Oklahoma 2/25 The City of Enid is seeking subcontractor bidders for the Kaw Lake water supply project. The project entails building a micro-tunnel intake to withdraw water from Kaw Lake, 70-miles of raw water conveyance pipeline, a new 10.5 million gallon-per-day water treatment plant and distribution system improvements.
