Minnesota The Metropolitan Council is planning to build the Heywood 2 bus maintenance facility in Minneapolis. Nebraska Green Star Gasifiers LLC is planning to build an 8 MW biomass power plant on a 17-acre site in the Roth Industrial Park in South Sioux City. The plant will have the capability to use multiple sources of fuel—including wood waste, municipal solid waste (garbage), construction and demolition waste and agriculture waste such as cornstalks—to make electricity. New Mexico The City of Albuquerque is planning to construct the Silver Avenue Flats mixed-use project at 101 Silver Ave. SW in Albuquerque. Missouri-Illinois The Terminal Railroad Association is seeking bidders to carry out the rehabilitation of the Merchants Bridge, a 4,340-ft-long steel truss railroad bridge across the Mississippi River erected in 1889. The work entails temporarily removing the existing scour protection (stone revetment) around the four existing masonry river piers. It also involves improving bridge seismic capacity by encasing the four existing rubble infill masonry river piers in reinforced concrete with additional drilled shafts or micropiles drilled into river bedrock; replacing scour protection (stone revetment); removing existing ties and rails in river spans; removing three existing river trusses by either blast demolition or float-out and constructing three new steel trusses and float into place; and installing ballast deck and new double track. Construction is expected to start in March, 2018 and be completed by March, 2021. The project is valued at between $210 million and $220 million.
