Product Snapshot: Skid-Steer 3D Controls and High-Capacity Scraper
Trimble is now offering a 3D grade-control system for Bobcat�s all-wheel steer loaders, compact track loaders and skid-steer loaders. The GCS900 Grade-Control System for Bobcat grader attachments allows for these smaller machines to perform finish work on sites where 3D grade control already is being used on larger earthmoving equipment. The Trimble system is the first 3D grade-control system made for Bobcat equipment. It can be installed on Bobcat�s standard grader attachments and is also available as an upgrade to the 2D laser-based systems already offered for Bobcat�s loaders. The GCS900 system is part of Trimble�s Connected Site portfolio and can wirelessly sync 3D layout files from the Trimble Business Center.

The K-Tec 1263 ADT Earthmoving Scraper has a heaped capacity of 63 cu yds and an empty tare weight of 30.5 tons. It boasts a 9-cu-yd increase in capacity over the 1254 ADT model, thanks to a longer bucket and a larger gate belly. The scraper is designed to be pulled by an articulated dump truck in the 40-ton-plus class. A digital display is mounted in the cab to provide operating information and truck-load count data. The scraper can be used with a push dozer in the cut to improve performance. The scraper�s high-load capacity also allows it to be used as material transport for an excavator.

The Volvo EC60E Crawler Excavator has an operating weight of 12,700 lb and is powered by a Tier 4 Final engine. The excavator has a small footprint: With a working width of only 6 ft, 4 in., it can fit into tight spaces and maneuver on busy jobsites. Its standard boom has a maximum reach of 20 ft, with a maximum digging dept of 12 ft, 1 in. It is capable of a breakout force of 9,720 lb, with an overall 20% increase in power compared to the earlier model. The excavator also boasts an 8% increase in fuel efficiency compared to the previous model. It can accept a wide range of hydraulic attachments, which can be switched out quickly using the optional Volvo attachment carrier.

The SK103PZ Self-Leveling Combination Cross-Line and Point Laser has a maximum working distance of 50 ft. It can provide reference lines for leveling, aligning, plumbing and squaring applications. The laser line of the SK103PZ extends 180� horizontally and 120� vertically. The laser has a 1?8-in. accuracy at 30 ft. The SK103PZ has durable rubber over-molding to reduce the chance of damage. The laser has a pendulum lock to protect it during storage; the lock also can be used for sloped layout applications.
