Kelly Commander, president of Command Construction Industries LLC, Metairie, La., was recently installed as president of the Louisiana Associated General Contractors Inc., a statewide construction trade association in Baton Rouge with about 750 member firms. The chapter also elected as officers for 2012: George Wilson Jr., of Barriere Construction Co. LLC., Metairie, as senior vice president; David Huval Jr., of CEC Inc., Lafayette, as vice president; and Vic Weston, of Tri-State Road Boring Inc., Baton Rouge, as treasurer. Harvey Bessette, of Bessette Development Corp., Lake Charles, is immediate past president.

The Gilbane Building Co. has named Adam Delk senior manager of its work in health care and higher education for the southwest region, based in Houston. He was formerly a principal consultant with KLMK, a health-care program management firm and also was founder and owner of Delk Construction Management Services.

Sebesta Blomberg, an engineering consulting firm, has named Alan LaFonas a principal in its Dallas and Oklahoma City offices. He was a founding chair of the U.S. Green Buildings Council's East Tennessee chapter.

Briggs International, the Dallas-based equipment distribution sector of holding company Sammons Enterprises Inc., has promoted Mike Winemiller to president. A 28-year Briggs veteran, he had been president of U.S. operations for its Briggs Equipment unit.

Christian Generes and Anne Teague Landis have been promoted to vice presidents of business development and of finance and administration, respectively, at Landis Construction Co. LLC, a New Orleans building contractor.

Structura Inc., an Austin-based general contractor, has announced several new hires. John Smith has been named senior superintendent in Houston. Most recently, he was a superintendent for Hoar Construction LLC. Lynda Sheer has been named accountant for the Houston office. She had been project cost accountant for Hill International. Matt Griser has been named an estimator.
