Chris Cotter has joined LJA Engineering Inc. as transportation manager in the firm's Houston-based public infrastructure division. He has been involved in major transportation projects in the region for more than 25 years. LJA also has offices in The Woodlands, Austin and San Antonio.
Maryanne Guido, CEO of Guido Brothers Construction Co., a San Antonio-based general contractor and construction manager, was installed as 2012 president of the San Antonio chapter of the Associated General Contractors.
Skanska USA has hired Shannon Arnold as senior vice president and account manager for the Dallas-Fort Worth and North Texas area. He will manage the company's Dallas operations. Arnold had been senior vice president of operations for Balfour Beatty's Texas division, which is based in Dallas.
Architect-engineer PageSoutherlandPage LLP has announced several promotions in its Texas offices. Michael J. Mace, Austin-based project director for the science and technology group, has been named one of the firm's nine principals. Jeffrey Bricker has been elevated to associate principal from senior vice president. Based in Houston, he manages large projects for educational, government and other clients and previously owned a design firm that merged into PageSoutherlandPage in 2004. Those elevated to senior vice president include Steve Edwards and David Quenemoen in Houston, Andrew R. Baxter and Dale J. Robinson in Austin and Kris Walsh in Dallas.
Arnold A. Cohen has joined engineering firm Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam Inc. in Houston as director of strategic implementation and senior project manager. Cohen had been with civil engineer CP&Y Inc. in roles that included president, board member and operations manager.

Named work place senior associates are Debra Bach, Cary Fregia, Denise Herrera and Liz Friedman. Sylvan Schurwanz now is living place senior associate.
