Scheduling constraints and working with sensitive equipment made construction of this liquefied natural gas facility in northeastern Pennsylvania challenging.

Located two blocks from Independence Hall, just steps from Carpenter’s Hall and across the street from the First Bank of the United States, the 118,000-sq-ft museum (ENR MidAtlantic 6/16 p. 28) was squeezed into a tight site in Philadelphia’s Old City.

The museum has had several additions and renovations since it opened in 1977 in Richmond’s former Broad Street railroad station. 

The $58.7-million, 108,100-sq-ft High Bay Research Facility is a critical part of the University of Wyoming’s bid to become a Tier 1 school in engineering and the sciences.

Designed to achieve net-zero energy use, the renovated 20,000-sq-ft space incorporates numerous sustainable elements as well as data-driven decisions to create what DPR calls a “living laboratory” that showcases technologies, products and systems.

Located in Washington Dulles International Airport’s international concourse, the 4,900-sq-ft project includes four lounge seating areas with buffets, a bar, spa/shower, prayer rooms, VIP area, commercial kitchen, television walls, flight displays and a fireplace.

A tight 15-month schedule for converting Cabrini University’s outdated and cramped athletics building into a top-flight sports facility and events venue required the team to coordinate activities to keep parts of the building open and fully functioning during construction.
