The $16 million LEED-certified project was required to have at least 20% of its workforce made up of women, minorities and emerging small businesses which the Portland Development Commission verified. It also helped finance the apartment building. The project team worked to obtain a workforce made up of 84.7% MWESB-certified companies. The facility seats 6,000 for hockey and arena events, approximately 7,800 for concerts and shows, and has 20 premium suites and club seating. There are 850 stalls of on-site parking. Prior to refurbishment, the 18-26 office building, located at the Boeing Kent facility, was outdated from infrastructure to envelope. Boeing wanted to create a prototypical workplace design program that met LEED Silver standards and would create an architectural identity on the campus.
The extensive expansion of Good Samaritan West Tower Medical Center involves the addition of 60,000 of new building space and over 19,000 of renovation. This will provide room for a new respiratory therapy area, a new kitchen area, as well as support for new electrical services. The ground level expansion will provide a new Emergency Department. The upper floors will host a new Critical Care Unit and offer space for additional medical/surgical beds and expanded administrative services.
