The Dallas office of Leo A Daly was recently selected to design two community medicine clinics for Parkland Health & Hospital System: The new Grand Prairie Clinic and the Maple Family Center Replacement. The scope of work includes full architectural services for a 35,000-sq-ft freestanding health and wellness clinic. The firm will provide architectural services for the replacement of the Maple Family Center in Dallas. Dallas-based HKS designed the $78-million University of North Texas stadium in Denton, marking the firm’s first foray into collegiate football stadiums and teaming up with Dallas-based Manhattan Construction. Dallas-based TBG Partners completed the design and finish-out of Boston Consulting Group’s (BCG) new 57,000-sq-ft Dallas office, on three floors of the Saint Ann Court luxury office building. The $51-million, 27-floor Saint Ann Court opened in November 2009 and is currently seeking LEED certification. BCG, an international strategy and management consulting firm, relocated its 150 Dallas employees in March from its previous 25,000-sq-ft office space located in downtown Dallas’ Lincoln Plaza. Champion Forest Baptist Church of Houston recently dedicated three new buildings designed by Studio RED Architects and built by Tellepsen Builders., both of Houston. The facilities include a 75,000-sq-ft Children’s Building, a 52,000-sq-ft Student Education Building and 31,000-sq-ft Adult Education Building. The Public Utility Commission of Texas (or PUC) recently approved a new rule requiring electric utilities to file storm hardening plans to reduce outages and limit infrastructure damage from weather-related events. div id="articleExtrasA" div id="articleExtrasB" div id="articleExtras" Utilities are required to file their reports no later than May 1, 2011 and must include vegetation management plans, pole construction standards, post-storm damage assessment procedures and data collection improvements. ABC’s Green Contractor Certification program recognizes construction companies that implement green practices and principles in the workplace, including headquarters, branch offices and jobsite offices.
