Texas Health Resources purchased land in north Tarrant County with plans to build a full-service hospital. Groundbreaking is scheduled for fall with plans to begin offering services in late 2011. Texas Health is currently in the early designing and planning stages of the hospital, which will include an emergency room, outpatient and surgical services, physician offices and acute-care inpatient beds. St. Luke’s Episcopal Health System in Houston opened its $28.5-million Lakeside Hospital, a new addition on the campus of St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital. Designed by RTKL, with offices in Dallas, the new 90,000-sq-ft hospital includes 30 inpatient beds, six operating rooms and three cardiac catheterization labs, as well as diagnostic imaging technologies. The recently opened Lakeside Hospital is a 90,000-sq-ft addition on the campus of St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital. It was designed by RTKL and built by Bellows Construction. Northeast Lakeview College, the newest addition to Alamo Colleges, recently opened.
