The Texas Dept. of Transportation recently approved all plans and schedules for the $1-billion DFW Connector Project. The project is being built under a comprehensive development agreement between TxDOT and Irving-based NorthGate Constructors. The 8-mi design-build project will double roadway capacity. The project is scheduled to be complete by 2014. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recently gave approval for the construction work on the approaches for the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge to continue. It was a much-anticipated approval and critical step for opening the bridge in 2011, Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert tells Texas Construction.
