Every year, ENR Midwest is honored to rank the region’s largest projects that started construction during the previous calendar year.

Promulgators of the Living Building Challenge, acknowledged as the most demanding certification program for the production of ultragreen buildings, are on a campaign to scale up the size of the projects that register for the rigorous net-zero annual energy- and water-use performance categories.

Every year, ENR Midwest is honored to rank the region’s largest projects that started construction during the previous calendar year. For 2015, a few projects in Minnesota are expected to join those from Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan.

Officials celebrated the start of construction on Shell Chemical LP's new $717 million linear alpha olefins manufacturing plant in Geismar on Feb. 16.

The project scored 83 points, the highest number in the USGBC database for Idaho projects under the 2009 Version 3 LEED criteria.
