The DeLorme inReach is a GPS receiver capable of sending SMS text messages via satellite communication. It is now compatible with iOS devices, including Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. New engine and transmission options are now available for the Western Star 6900 Truck. The 15.6-liter Detroit DD16 engine has 600 hp and 2,050 lb-ft of torque and boasts an improved torque performance curve. The Detroit Series 60 Tier 3 engine is now available for the Western Star 6900 Twin-Steer Truck. The Allison RDS 4500 and 4700 automatic transmissions are also available for the 6900TS Truck. The Allison transmission is well suited to drilling operations: A propulsion mode puts power to the wheels in rugged terrain, while, in stationary mode, it can supply power to pumps, winches and augersin the field.
