Frontier Group of Cos. is considering constructing a 900-MW natural gas-fired simple-cycle power plant and repowering the 2.7-GW decommissioned Bruce Mansfield coal-fired power plant in Shippingport to a natural gas-fired plant. The Phase I Shippingport Power Station project scope includes construction of building space and equipment foundations; purchase and erection of fuel storage tanks; installation of turbine and generator sets; and purchase and installation of cooling towers, electrical enclosures and emissions control equipment. The Phase II scope includes demolition and removal of coal handling systems; refurbishment of steam turbine and generator sets and balance of plant equipment; replacement of synchronization equipment; construction of equipment foundations, an onsite gas receiving station and header system, a 34.5-kV substation, and a natural gas supply line; and purchase and installation of gas turbines, cooling towers, transformers and switchgear. South Carolina
Rolls-Royce Solutions America Inc. plans to expand its engine manufacturing plant in Graniteville. Project scope includes construction of 37,000 sq ft of building space; and purchase and installation of fabrication, assembly and parts storage equipment and systems. I & S Group has been selected to provide design services. Construction is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026. Rolls-Royce will use the expansion to increase capacity to produce engines for high-power mission-critical backup generators. Texas
Adom Industries Inc. is considering establishing a semiconductor research, development, testing and headquarters facility in Fort Worth. Project scope includes fitout of a building to include an electronics prototyping laboratory; and purchase and installation of inspection, testing, fabrication and assembly equipment and systems. Project completion is expected in December 2027. Adom Industries would develop the site in four phases, through 2033, to develop an electronics prototyping lab, electronics workbench and semiconductor fab for cloud-based users.
