Freepoint Eco-Systems LLC is planning to construct a plastics recycling facility on a 40-acre site in Eloy. The project scope includes construction of building space and purchase and installation of plastic waste receiving equipment, hoppers, conveyors, extruders, pyrolysis reactors, condensers and pelletizers. The facility will have the capacity to process 180,000 tons of plastic waste per year to produce polymer feedstock for Shell Chemicals. Chemex Global Inc. is providing front-end engineering design and will also provide engineering, procurement and construction services for the project. Construction is expected to begin in 2024.
