Industry Leads for the Week of March 21, 2022

PENNSYLVANIA

Tram Bar Co-Packing LLC, doing business as the Organic Snack Co., is planning to construct a snack foods manufacturing plant on an 82-acre site at Bedford Business Park II in Bedford. The project scope includes construction of a 750,000-sq-ft building; and purchase, relocation and installation of stainless steel tanks and piping, automated conveyors, and ingredient dispensing, mixing, baking, cooling and packaging equipment and systems. Equipment will be relocated from Tram Bar’s 20,000-sq-ft energy bar production facility in Allegheny Township. Layton Construction Co. LLC has been selected to provide general construction services for the building. Construction is expected to begin in July 2022. The estimated EPC cost is $75 million. TEXAS

Expansion Ammunition is planning to establish an ammunition manufacturing plant on a 170-acre site at the TexAmericas Center East Campus in Hooks. The phased project scope includes renovation of the former Lone Star Army ammunition plant. It will also entail construction of additional building space; and purchase and installation of punch presses, conveyors and chemical storage, blending, annealing, washing, filling, inspection and packaging equipment. Initial operations at the site are expected to begin by the end of the first quarter of 2022. The plant is expected to be fully operational by 2023. The estimated EPC cost is $100 million. WASHINGTON

WestRock Co. is planning to construct a corrugated box plant at the site of its paper mill in Longview. The project scope includes construction of a 400,000-sq-ft building; purchase and installation of conveyors, an air compressor system, and corrugating, die cutting, folding, gluing, printing, laminating, labeling and packaging equipment and systems; and purchase of forklifts and reach trucks. Construction is expected to begin in mid-2022. The plant will replace the company’s existing 200,000-sq-ft corrugated box plant in Longview.
