10/26 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking bidders to carry out safety modifications to the Lewisville Dam, a 6.2-mile-long, 120-ft-tall earthen embankment dam on the Trinity River, 34 miles upstream from Dallas, that was constructed in 1955. The work includes installing post-tensioned anchors through the ogee weir, and an upstream geomembrane blanket. The anchors will be founded approximately 130 ft below the spillway weir foundation. The upstream geomembrane blanket will be installed in the approach channel of the spillway below the current grade and attached to the ogee monoliths.
