ARKANSAS

Artspace Projects Inc., acting as agent for the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, is planning to carry out Phase 2 of the South of Momentary Artspace Lofts project in Bentonville. Phase 2 involves building a four-story, 55,055-sq-ft residential building with 50 apartments and a small art gallery. It is being designed by Kevin Daly Architects, and Flintco LLC has been selected as the general contractor. Construction is expected to start in March 2023. The project is valued at $16 million. CONNECTICUT

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is planning to carry out a major flood control resiliency project in New Haven. The project entails constructing a 6,425-ft-long flood wall along the Interstate 95 embankment at Long Wharf, and also constructing a heavy duty pump station. The flood wall will enhance and augment the existing I-95 embankment, thereby protecting the Amtrak and Metro-North railroad tracks and rail yard from storm surge from Long Island Sound. There will also be five floodgates at the three I-95 underpasses and exit and entrance ramps. Construction is expected to start in July 2025. The project is valued at $160 million. KANSAS

Johnson County is planning a long-range overhaul of the Myron K. Nelson Wastewater Treatment Facility in Mission. The Johnson County Board of County Commissioners has approved guaranteed maximum prices for initial construction and design work totaling $44 million for the first phase, which includes replacing the Turkey Creek Pump Station pipeline and installation of traffic signals at the overpass at Interstate 35 and Lamar Avenue, to reduce the impacts of construction traffic. It is being designed by Black & Veatch Corp. and McCarthy Building Cos. has been chosen as the construction manager-at-risk. NEW MEXICO

The City of Farmington is planning to carry out the Pinon Hills Boulevard Extension and Bridge project. It consists of constructing a new roadway from New Mexico Route 516/East Main Street to the intersection of County Road 390/Wildflower Parkway and County Road 3900. It will be carried out in three phases. Construction is expected to start in March 2023. The project is valued at $49.9 million. PENNSYLVANIA

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is currently evaluating submitted bids for design services for the Allegheny Tunnel Transportation Improvement Project in Somerset and Bedford counties. The project entails designing a preferred alignment alternative to the Allegheny Tunnel, from approximately milepost 121 to milepost 125. It includes the realignment and new construction of approximately 3.8 miles of Turnpike roadway; several mainline structures; culverts; one overhead wildlife crossing; and stabilization and remediation of an ancient landslide. Icon West Inc. has started constructing a replacement of the San Bernardino Valley College Technical Building. The two-story, 114,897-sq-ft building will house research labs, classrooms and offices as well as the following programs: automotive mechanical, hybrid and EV; automotive restoration and street rod; heavy truck; machine technology; HVAC and refrigeration; water inspection technology; and electricity and electronics. IDAHO

Rimrock Construction has started building the Village Apartments in Meridian. The complex consists of 6 four-story buildings totaling 365,944 sq ft, including 336 apartments, a 5,300-sq-ft club house, 44 garages, a pool and a dog park. It has been designed by the Architect’s Office. The project is valued at between $25 million and $50 million.
