North Carolina Sara Lee Frozen Bakery is planning to expand its frozen foods production facility in Tarboro. The project scope includes construction of building space; and purchase and installation of automated conveyors, ingredient storage and dispensing, mixing, blending, baking, freezing and packaging equipment. The Dennis Group has been selected to provide engineering, procurement and construction services for the project. Construction is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2020. North Dakota Cloverdale Foods Co. is planning to expand and upgrade its meat processing facility in Mandan. The project scope includes electrical and ammonia system upgrades; construction of a 44,000-sq-ft building expansion with warehouse space, a 6,600-sq-ft cooler/freezer expansion and 3,000 sq ft of office space; purchase and installation of racking, a wrap machine and loading dock equipment; and purchase of pallet jacks and forklift trucks. The expansion will double the plant’s production capacity to 70 million lb of sausage, bacon, bratwurst, ham and other meat products per year from 35 million lb. Northwest Contracting Inc. has been selected to provide construction and procurement services for the project. Construction is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2020. A second phase is planned for 2022, which includes design and construction of an additional building expansion and purchase and installation of bacon-slicing lines and a bacon press. Texas Wet Sounds, Inc. is planning to construct a manufacturing plant on a 27-acre site in Rosenberg. The project scope includes construction of a 120,000-sq-ft building and purchase and installation of molding, finishing, assembly, testing and packaging equipment. Construction is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2020. Wet Sounds manufactures speaker systems and components for marine and power-sports applications.
