LOUISIANA Regenyx LLC is considering constructing a polystyrene reprocessing plant at the Americas Styrenics styrene production plant in St. James. The project scope includes construction of equipment foundations; purchase and erection of structural steel; and purchase and installation of polystyrene materials receiving equipment, pyrolysis reactors, storage tanks, condensers, heat exchangers, and vapor treatment equipment. NEW MEXICO Escalante H2 Power is planning to retrofit the retired coal-fired, 253-MW Escalante Generating Station in Prewitt to a hydrogen-fired power plant and construct a hydrogen purification plant on an adjacent site, and an underground carbon dioxide sequestration facility nearby. The project scope includes construction of injection and monitoring wells and equipment foundations; purchase and erection of structural steel and storage tanks; installation of a hydrogen purification system. Escalante H2 Power is a joint effort between Newpoint Gas LLC and Brooks Energy Company. The companies will perform engineering, procurement and construction management in-house and utilize Newpoint’s proprietary process technology for the project. SOUTH CAROLINA OceanaGold Corp. is planning to expand the gold processing mill at its 4,552-acre Haile Gold open pit mine site near Kershaw. The project scope includes construction of equipment foundations; installation of a stirred-medium grinding mill; and purchase and installation of a pebble crusher, a tower mill, and ore extraction, screening, drying, washing, flotation, conveying, tailings handling and water treatment equipment. The plant’s processing capacity will increase from 3.3 to 5.1 million tons per year. The project also includes construction of a new underground mine, the Horseshoe Underground, which will have an average production capacity of 250,000 ounces of gold per year.
