California Central Valley Eggs LLC is planning to establish an egg production facility at the former Triple V Dairy site in Tulare. The project scope includes renovation of building space; and purchase and installation of automated conveyors, and egg washing, sizing, grading and packaging equipment. The facility will have the capacity to house 2.2 million cage-free hens, which are expected to produce 2 million eggs per day. Dayco Construction Inc. has been selected as the general contractor. Indiana Yamaha Marine Precision Propellers Inc. is planning to construct a steel foundry on a 28-acre site in Greenfield. The project scope includes construction of a 50,000-sq-ft building and equipment foundations; purchase and erection of structural steel; and purchase, relocation and installation of overhead cranes, and shot blasting, casting and storage equipment. Equipment will be relocated from the company’s plant in Indianapolis. The facility will have the capacity to produce 120,000 steel investment castings for marine propellers per year. A construction firm will be selected from a predefined short list. Construction is expected to begin in early June 2019. The estimated EPC cost is $18 million. Louisiana BASF Corporation is planning to expand methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) production at its chemical complex in Geismar. The Phase 2 project scope includes construction of equipment foundations; fabrication and erection of structural steel; and purchase and installation of reactors, distillation columns and plastic-lined piping systems. Construction is expected to begin by the end of 2019. The company is currently constructing Phase 1. The two-phase project will double the site’s production capacity for MDI, a precursor for polyurethanes, from 300,000 to 600,000 metric tons per year. The estimated EPC cost is $87 million.
