Fall-Protection Harness: New Features

The Blue Armor fall-protection harness has been updated with a post-fall relief handle to allow the wearer to shift into a more comfortable position while awaiting rescue. This feature also reduces pressure on the femoral arteries, lessening the chance of permanent damage after the fall. Other improvements to the harness include a breathable interior material and redesigned waist pads for greater comfort during extended use. Werner; www.wernerladder.com

Grade Control: Guidance System for Excavator

The Deere 470G LC excavator is now available with factory-installed, grade-guidance machine controls. The system allows the operator to know exactly where the bucket is relative to a predefined 2D reference or a 3D design surface. Based on technology from Topcon Positioning Systems, the system features an in-cab display providing real-time information. This guide can improve performance on precision digging operations such as digging trenches for pipes, shaping slopes or digging foundations. Deere Construction & Forestry; www.deere.com
