Washington The cities of Aberdeen and Hoquiam, which are located along the shore of Grays Harbor and sit between the Wishkah and Hoquiam rivers, are planning to construct the North Shore Levee. The 6-mile-long levee will be around 3 to 5 ft high, and will consist of a combination of earthen berms, concrete walls and sheet pile walls The levee will provide coastal flood protection, improve the storm drainage systems so that they more effectively collect and convey runoff from intense storm events, and significantly reduce the economic burden on the community caused by flooding.
