Pennsylvania The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is developing two fiber optic networks. Both design-build projects involve the design and installation of a network of eight fiber-optic ½-in.-dia microducts bundled inside two conduits, two fiber-optic cables and associated equipment within the Commission’s right-of-way. One network will run 112 miles along the East-West Mainline from Harrisburg to the Delaware River Bridge, crossing over 79 bridges. The second network will run 110 miles along the Northeastern Extension from the Mid County toll plaza to Clarks Summit, crossing over 77 bridges and one tunnel.
