Florida Simon Property Group Inc. is in the planning stages of an expansion for the Colonnade Outlets at the Sawgrass Mills mall in Sunrise. Missouri NorthPoint Development is planning to convert the Kansas City Power & Light Building into apartments. The 36-story Art Deco skyscraper, built in 1931, has not been fully occupied since the utility moved out in 1991. Located at 14th Street and Baltimore Avenue, it was Missouri's tallest building for four decades. Of the 200 finished apartments, 20 will be located in the six-story lantern tower and have outdoor terraces. It also will include a rooftop pool on top of a next-door, 465-space parking garage. South Carolina The Keer Group has picked Moss & Associates as the design-builder of a textile manufacturing facility in Fort Mill. The 229,400-sq-ft building will make industrial cotton yarn. Colorado GBBH, a joint venture of Graham Contracting Ltd., Balfour Beatty Rail Inc., Hamon Contractors Inc., Stantec and Parsons Brinckerhoff Inc., has started constructing the North Metro Rail Line, a component of the FasTracks program. The project entails building an 18.5-mile-long electric commuter-rail line from Denver's Union Station through Commerce City, Thornton and Northglenn to 124th Avenue.
