Children of St. Joseph the Worker Parish Church placed stones decorated by them into the foundation of a new church being constructed by R&O Construction.

The dirt from the groundbreaking will be placed under the new altar. St. Joseph the Worker is located at 7405 Redwood Rd. in West Jordan.

To make room for construction of the new 20,000-sq-ft church, R&O Construction, the general contractor, demolished the existing church, built as a temporary structure 45 years ago.

The architect on the project is John Sparano of Sparano + Mooney Architecture of Salt Lake City.
