The $3.4-million Happy Hollow Park Bridge is a twin network tied-arch pedestrian bridge spanning Coyote Creek that provides a signature entrance to the renovated Happy Hollow Park and Zoo in San Jose.

Completed in March 2012, the bridge is the first of its kind in Northern California and consists of twin 270-ft identical spans. These were constructed using only two rolled sections for the arch ribs and for the tie girders and cross bracing. A single cable size (3/4 in. dia) was used for both spans. Cable connections comprise single-plate elements, bolted at the tie-girder connection and welded at the arch rib.

The HNTB bridge design team was led by Ted Zoli, 2012 ENR Award of Excellence winner.
