A story on ESI will
appear in the August 24 print issue of ENR Mountain States and
Southwest, which also will feature our annual ranking of the top
construction firms across the eight-state region of Arizona, Colorado,
Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.
What was once a three-story call center has been transformed into a state-of-the-art headquarters for ESI, optimized to improve collaboration, inspire innovation, foster teamwork and cultivate relationships.
Although this project’s original scope was to remodel an existing 73-year-old fire station to bring it up to code, the team quickly discovered that the structure was beyond repair.
Thomas Hill, who had led the Idaho contractor, apologized in a statement, saying "that no context or excuse can mitigate the pain associated with this
symbol.”
As an all-in-one center for death investigations, medical examinations and emergency preparedness, this 40,000-sq-ft, two-story facility includes advanced forensic pathology laboratory space, ample cold storage, autopsy bays, staff care facilities and administrative office space.
