Hatzel & Buehler has been selected as 2015 regional specialty contractor of the year for the New York-New Jersey region.

Hatzel & Buehler had revenue of $111.5 million in 2014, earning it a rank of 7th in the 2015 Regional Top Specialty Contractors, moving the firm up from 15th in the 2014 rankings. In 2013, Hatzel & Buehler had revenue of $86.6 million. Rankings are based on prior year revenue.

Specialty contractor of the year is selected by the vote of the ENR regional editors.

In addition to moving up sharply in the rankings, Hatzel & Buehler has won several high profile jobs in New York City, including official electrical contractor for the United Nations and the maintenance contractor for the World Trade Center site. The firm also played a role in re-energizing lower Manhattan in connection with the transformation of the World Financial Center to Brookfield Place.

The company also worked on the Fulton Street Transit Center in New York for the Metropolitan Transit Authority and the 63rd St. subway station, also for the MTA. In New Jersey H&B worked on the Hamilton Railroad and Bus Complex for New Jersey Transit.

In April, the National Electrical Contractors Association recognized Hatzel & Buehler for its safety record. The firm’s New Jersey, West Virginia, Philadelphia and Delaware offices won NECA’s Zero-Injury Award, which recognized the individual offices for no recordable incidents, throughout the year.

The company’s New Jersey and West Virginia Offices won a Safety Excellence Award, which is part of NECA’s premier safety recognition program.
