The June issue of ENR New York will feature the top ranked deign firms based on 2014 revenues.

There was strong revenue growth throughout the region with the top firms booking an aggregate $4.8 billion in revenue in 2014, compared with $3.7 billion in 2013, and nine of the top 10 firms experiencing strong revenue growth.

STV is one of the firms that booked a strong jump in revenues and, based in part on that performance, STV was selected as the New York region’s top design firm of 2015.

In 2014, STV was particularly focused on designing for resiliency as it helped new and existing clients repair or improve infrastructure and facilities damaged by Superstorm Sandy, which hit the region in October 2012.

The New York-based firm is currently involved in the Long Island Railroad East Side Access project, in the redevelopment of the Bronx Psychiatric Center Adult Behavioral Healthcare Center and Campus for the New York Dormitory Authority, the WTC Transportation Hub at the site of the former World Trade Towers for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, as well as the redevelopment of LaGuardia Airport.

STV’s story is one that resonates throughout the region. Half of the top 10 firms in the 2015 ranking listed a transportations project as their largest to break ground last year.

STV, like some other firms, also benefitted from a rebound in the New York City construction market. That uptick combined with a bolstering of revenues from merger and acquisition activity, means that nine of the top 10 ranked 2015 design firms saw revenue increases. And in 2015 it took revenues of at least $100 million to be included among the top 10 design firms.

The complete list of the New York region’s 2015 top design firms can be found in the June issue of ENR New York, along with analysis, project descriptions and the rankings for the top green design firm of the year.
