Construction of a new $100 million office building at The Green in Florham Park, N.J. is scheduled to begin in July with New York-based Rockefeller Group Development Corporation developing the project. The new building will be home to Florham Park-based BASF Corporation’s North American Headquarters after signing a long-term lease for 325,000 sq ft.

The five-story office building including the basement will feature a two-story lobby and extensive outdoor plaza space and will seek a LEED Platinum certification. BASF’s own chemical products will be used in the construction and contribute to the sustainability of the building. The building would be the largest office building in New Jersey to achieve LEED Platinum status.

The Green at Florham Park is currently a 268-acre sustainable development that includes more than 800,000 sq ft of office space, a full-service hotel, a 425-unit adult residential community, and a 27-acre site that is home of the Atlantic Health New York Jets Training Center. Atlantic Health, a New York and New Jersey healthcare provider is also planning to build a 10,000 sq ft, four-story medical facility called Atlantic Sports Health Institute within the park.

Occupancy of the new office building is expected by mid 2012.
