In September, I announced winners of ENR’s 10th annual Global Best Projects competition, in which a panel of industry judges and then ENR editors identify and recognize project teams responsible for outstanding design and construction efforts of the past year from across the world.

From more than 30 winning projects, three have now been selected as finalists for Global Project of the Year.

While all projects chosen from the record number of entries exhibited excellence in designing and building internationally, these three projects excel in almost all criteria by which projects were judged: design and construction quality, innovation, safety performance, industry and community benefit and overcoming challenges.

  • Canal Lachine Cable Stay Bridge, located in Montréal, Canada. Submitted by Parsons, it also is Best Project winner in the Bridge/Tunnel category.
  • Google’s Bay View Campus, located in Mountain View, Calif., U.S. Submitted by Sares Regis Group of Northern California, it also is Best Project winner in the Office category.
  • Tianfu Agricultural Exposition, located in Tianfu, China. Submitted by StructureCraft, it also is Best Project winner in the Sports/Entertainment category.

The winning Global Project of the Year will be revealed for recognition, along with the others selected in project categories, at a free virtual event on Dec. 13. All are invited to watch presentations about the winners and meet the teams. Visit enr.com/global-best-projects for more information.

In addition, all  winning projects will be spotlighted in more detail in ENR's Dec. 12 issue.
