Commuters and travelers who cross the Hudson River by transit into New York City hope a just-finished track upgrade at Penn Station will improve recent delays, derailments and other malfunctions.
Thelma Drake, a former Republican U.S. congresswoman from Virginia and former Norfolk assistant public-works director, on Aug. 23 confirmed to Washington, D.C., broadcaster Martin Di Caro that she is a nominee for Federal Transit administrator, according to his tweet.
Marijuana, while still banned under federal law, is now legal in 28 states and in the District of Columbia, where federal law is not enforced. Eight of those states have legalized recreational marijuana and the remaining 20 are strictly medical.
