Six months after Terex Peneir SK415 crane collapsed onto a Dallas apartment building, killing one, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration has fined the crane’s owner, Bigge Crane and Rigging Co. citing serious violations.
There were lots of extremes for builders of Dallas’ newest mixed-use tower, 1920 McKinney, as they faced three months of rain, zero-lot lines and strict noise ordinances to meet an accelerated schedule.
“Some of the fastest-growing areas in the country are located in North Texas, including Fort Worth and the North Dallas 121 area,” Meloni McDaniel says.
Despite nail biting over predictions of 20-mph winds, crews on Aug. 22 erected the 200-ton center segment of the eastbound steel arch on the Margaret McDermott Bridge in Dallas.
