ENR MidAtlantic Best Projects judges have again been treated to outstanding regional project submissions.

The 2023 ENR California Best Projects competition featured a host of innovative work that spanned the construction and design spectrum.

Spanning 154,000 sq ft across two four-story buildings, this project consolidates research facilities consisting of labs, a vivarium, an innovation center, offices, amenities and support spaces.

Featuring a stepped profile with four stories on the west side and seven on the east, this 346,000-sq-ft building creates a larger space for Erie Insurance’s downtown campus, balancing the firm’s legacy and future growth.

Five seven-story residential buildings comprise the new student housing community at UC Irvine completed in August 2022. It also includes a 15,996-sq-ft community building, a 10,311-sq-ft maintenance and operations facility and a 253,442-sq-ft, 853-stall parking structure.

ENR New England has chosen its Excellence in Sustainability Winner.
