As ENR Southwest’s recently published annual Top Starts ranking showed, 2022 proved to be an especially strong year for construction firms working in the states of Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico.

Southeastern design firms stayed busy and grew revenue in 2022, and as they look to the future, they expect to maintain that momentum as people continue to move to Southeastern metro areas and federal dollars support infrastructure investment.

ENR Midwest is getting ready to publish the 2023 Top Designs Firm rankings

More than 120 firms are participating in ENR Southeast's 2023 Top Design Firms ranking, which will be unveiled in the May 1 issue of ENR Southeast, along with our Design Firm of the Year. 

The 126 firms ranked on the 2022 ENR MidAtlantic Top Design Firm list reported a combined $6.13 billion in regional revenue in 2021, the same amount logged by 126 firms ranked on last year’s list. Last year’s total was a 2.7% decrease from the $6.3 billion logged by 129 firms in 2019

For engineering and architectural firms on the West Coast, recovery from the economic woes brought on by the pandemic has been an uneven affair.

In 2021, slowdowns in the regional oil and gas market as well as global supply chain delays impacted A/E companies doing business in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas.
