Sensera Systems Raises $27M, With an Eye on Improving AI

Sensera’s solar-powered camera can be set up in just 15 minutes.
Sensera Systems closed a $27-million Series B funding round in late February led by 10 Atlantic Group, with added investment by Egis Capital Partners and MUUS Asset Management.
CEO Robert Garber said the site-monitoring firm will continue to focus on construction artificial intelligence and how it can better serve field professionals. Funding will “continue to fuel our growth around our innovation, [with] AI to run a better job using jobsite intelligence,” he notes. “We’re pretty well poised to help [construction users] get better project outcomes. This round was designed to do that, to help us on our AI strategy.”
Sensera says that its jobsite monitoring system uses cameras built for rugged environments that are solar-powered, cellular-connected and can be set up on site in only 15 minutes.
The company’s SiteCloud software uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to analyze security threats and safety performance on jobsites and send insights to users’ mobile devices. A quick turnaround on processing allows for insights to be used in site safety briefings, it says.
“We’re more interested in providing imagery that gives you that insight to know how to coach and create a better environment for everyone on the jobsite,” Garber explains.
TRITEC Real Estate is using the Sensera camera and AI platform for its $113-million mixed-use and residential Station Yards project in Ronkonkoma, N.Y. , to provide jobsite security and progress monitoring. It is construction manager for the 53-acre development.
