The Riva Residence Tower, a luxury waterfront high-rise located between Port Rashid and Dubai Dry Rocks, is the first architectural landmark within Dubai Maritime City. Given its proximity to the water, the structure was built with stone pillars and deep-pile foundations reaching sea level to ensure long-term durability.
Sustainability was a key focus for the project, which aimed to achieve LEED Silver certification. To also reach this goal, the team implemented low-flow fixtures and smart irrigation systems to reduce water to use.
High solar reflectance materials were implemented, as well as a waste management system that reduces both energy and water use.
In addition to its residential areas, the tower also features green spaces, an infinity pool, a high-end lobby and a pedestrian promenade offering views of the waterfront. Despite a late redesign of the building’s facade, the project was finished on time and within budget.
