Architectural Record recently spoke with ENR 2024 Award of Excellence Winner Kit Miyamoto, founder and CEO of Miyamoto International, about his firm's efforts to assess damage in the war-torn Gaza Strip while making plans for eventual rebuilding efforts.

ENR cited Miyamoto in April for his ongoing work in providing structural engineering services in the wake of devastating earthquakes and other natural and disasters. His firm also recently expanded its rapid-response work in conflict zones, performing structural assessments and leading rebuilding efforts in Ukraine.

Miyamoto spoke at the ENR Award of Excellence Gala in New York City about the situation in Gaza and what engineers can do to address the humanitarian crisis:
