Wieland Rolled Products North America is planning to expand its metal rolling mill in East Alton. The project scope includes construction of building space and equipment foundations, installation of a new rolling mill, and purchase and installation of overhead cranes and supporting equipment. Vestal Corp. has been selected to provide design services for the site, utilities, building, and balance of plant design. Salas O’Brien has been selected to provide process design services. Helmkamp Construction Co. will provide program management and Graycor Construction Company will be the general contractor. The estimated EPC cost is $500 million. NEBRASKA

Synergen Green Energy, a subsidiary of Skeiron Green Energy Inc., is planning to construct a green hydrogen and ammonia plant on a 160-acre site in Aurora. The project scope includes construction of a windmill energy farm, a solar power plant, building space and equipment foundations; and purchase and installation of electrolyzer units, gas coolers, hydrogen and fuel tanks, an electrical power collection system, transformers, cabling, switchgear, and water processing and gas purification equipment. The plant will have an initial capacity to produce 350,000 metric tons of green ammonia per year, 180 million kg of green hydrogen per year and generate 3.6 GW of electric power. Stardust Power Inc., a startup company, is planning to construct a lithium refinery at Southside Industrial Park in Muskogee. The project scope includes construction of building space and equipment foundations; purchase and erection of structural steel; and purchase and installation of storage tanks, reactors, and sorbent loading, washing, stripping, polishing, crystallizers, filtration, bagging, flow and process control and loadout equipment. The refinery will have the capacity to produce 50,000 metric tons of battery-grade lithium per year. Construction is expected to begin by the end of the second quarter of 2024.
