MICHIGAN

Plastic Omnium SA is planning to establish a hydrogen vessel manufacturing plant in Grand Blanc and a hydrogen vessel validation facility at an unselected site in Michigan. The project scopes include fit-out of a 20,000-sq-ft building for manufacturing and a 50,000-sq-ft building for validation as well as purchase and installation of carbon filament winding equipment. The plant will have the capacity to produce hydrogen vessels for 40,000 vehicles per year. Project completion is expected by 2027. Plastic Omnium SA is a subsidiary of France-based Compagnie Plastic. NORTH CAROLINA/GEORGIA

John Deere Electric Powertrain LLC, a joint venture between John Deere and Kreisel Electric, is considering constructing an electric battery manufacturing plant on a site adjacent to John Deere’s hydraulic excavator plant in Kernersville, N.C., or near John Deere’s utility tractor plant in Grovetown, Ga. The project scope includes design and construction of a 115,000-sq-ft building with clean room space and purchase and installation of conveyors, raw material storage and robotic assembly equipment. The plant will produce lithium-ion immersion-cooled battery modules for use in electrified off-road and off-highway equipment. The estimated EPC cost is $69.6 million. TENNESSEE

Amaero International Ltd. is planning to construct a titanium alloy powder manufacturing plant at the Spring Branch Industrial Park in Cleveland. The project scope includes fit-out of a 100,000-sq-ft building; construction of a 30,000-sq-ft high-bay building expansion; installation of a furnace, cooling towers and pneumatic conveying, blending, drying and dust-collection equipment; and purchase and installation of packaging and other supporting equipment. Blaine Construction Co. has been selected as the general contractor. Building fit-out is scheduled to begin in September 2023; equipment installation is expected to begin in early 2024; and construction of the building expansion is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2024.
